Faces Minerals Blush in Amber Rose: Review and Swatches

Being a huge Faces fan I obviously jumped at the chance of any discounts on the products. I picked up a nail polish set and this blush at a fifty percent discount during the sale. Faces minerals blush in Amber Rose is just beautiful and I am so happy with my purchase that I wish I had gotten a backup as well. The warm orange brown colored blush suits my dark complexion to the T and the minute golden shimmer add a touch of radiance. The blush is originally priced at INR 400 for 6 g of product. However I got a whopping fifty percent off so got it for just 200 bucks, and I have to say it is a steal at this price.

The packaging of this product is good..sturdy and practical. There is a tiny mirror and a small blush brush provided with the Minerals blushes.

The best part about the blush of course is that it is pigmented but not overtly so. You can keep it light for a more day time look or choose to build up the color for the evenings. It looks great on warm skin but I don’t know how it would fare on fairer skin tones. It would look warm and pretty I guess if not used with heavy hand. The texture is smooth and much better than the normal Faces blushes I have. The staying power I would say is approximately the same. It lasts for around fours hours only. Here are the swatches of the blush.

My recommendation: If you have a dusky skin tone like mine then it is a great blush. BTW can anyone suggest dupes for this product?

Mac Pune Has a New Address

I had heard of the a new Mac store opening up in Pune and was quite excited to check it out..Finally!!!!! we have it, our very own Mac store. Located in Park Plaza, a sprawling new mall in Koregaon Park, the new Mac store is so much better than the old pop up store in Jewel Square which by the way is now closed..So all Mac lovers in Pune head to Park Plaza for all your Mac goodies. In store is the new Posh Paradise collection with some gorgeous paint pots I have ever seen. The MUA Richard who is my favorite promised there is a lot more to come (Read: Iris Apfel lippies :)) . Here is the pic of the new Mac store (Sorry for the bad quality..the lighting was horrendous)

For all those who are confused about the location, this mall is next to Westin. BTW Park Plaza also has the first L'occitane store as well and the second Forest Essentials store. Clinique too is ariving soon :) Me sooo soo happy that I bought a Mac lippi..:D

Revlon Colorburst Lipstick Crimson: Review, Swatches and FOTD

I know I am a little late but I just had to review the Revlon Colorburst lipsticks. These are by far one of the best budget lipsticks in the market with an amazing formulation, texture and staying power. I recently got myself the shade Crimson from this range and I have to tell you that I completely adore this lipstick. The texture is smooth, creamy and intensely pigmented.

Revlon colorburst lipsticks are available for 580 INR. I love the quilted black packaging as well..very classy and chic.

Crimson is a red with slight orange and brown tones. It is the perfect red lippi for dusky skin. I swatched a number of lippies from this range including True red, Plum, Raspberry and Fuchsia, but Crimson was by far the most flattering against my skin tone. The shade immediately perks up your face and you do not need any other makeup. The staying power is also great. Even after all the junk food that I had this lipstick easily stayed on for five hours leaving behind a slight reddish tinge. The texture is creamy and it fares well on my chapped lips. The best part is it does not transfer onto things..such a relief!!!

 My recommendation: Must must have

Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipsticks: Crème Cup 1, Love that Rust and Peach Tango

I am obsessed with Colorbar products so much so that my hubby now refuses to let me even pass by any Colorbar counter L. I just randomly end up picking anything be it lipsticks, eyeshadows or glosses even makeup brushes. While I love all their products my favorite has to be the Velvet matte lipsticks. Smooth, creamy, intensely pigmented with a lovely matte finish this range of lipstick is definitely one of my favorite makeup products. Moreover these lipsticks are very attractively priced so I don’t have to feel guilty about hoarding so many of these. I have three lipsticks from this range, Love that rust, a beautiful rusty brown shade, Crème cup 1, my favorite nude peachy orange and Peach tango, a peach shade with an overload of shimmer.

Price: INR 220 for 4.2 g approximately (You can get it cheaper online)

What Colorbar Claims

“For a rich lip colour with a creamy shine, the Velvet Matte Lipstick, available in 45 stunning shades infuse the lips with vibrancy. Its unique 2-in-1 formulation gives the lips a creamy, yet matte finish. A one of a kind product in India, it has super softening agents that give the lips a soft and supple appearance while keep them nourished with Vitamin E. Staying on up to 5 hours on application, the Velvet Matte Lipstick can be further accentuated with lip gloss and lip liner."

Packaging

The packaging is kind of cheap with that plastic cap and the silver metallic base. The only consolation is the colored bottom of the tubes which makes it easier to locate the shade.

Pigmentation

The claims by Colorbar regarding the color and formulation is quite accurate. The pigmentation of Colorbar Velvet matte lipsticks is awesome and one swipe ensures you have beautiful color on your lips. The finish is matte but unlike other matte lipsticks these ones are not drying. I have extremely chapped dry lips. Thankfully these lipsticks cover the dryness and pigmentation. Moreover they don’t bleed or transfer onto other things

The staying power is the best part about these lipsticks. They just stay on and on. Even after it fades post all your meals and vada pav, the lipsticks leave a slight tint. Here are the swatches of the three Colorbar lippies I own

Love that Rust

A rust brown shade with a hint of golden in it. Perfect for all the weddings and functions I attend.  My dusky skin just loves this shade

Peach Tango

This is an online purchase. The piece was delivered in this damaged condition and I have used it just once. The shade, a light frosty pink shade looks horrible on me. Moreover I do not like the excessive shimmer. This color might suit fairer skinned beauties more.

Crème Cup 1

I got this as a free goodie with my Colorbar goodies and it is my favorite shade ever. It is a beautiful orange peach shade that fades to leave behind a slight pinkish tint.

A Feast for Your Eyes! My New Mac Haul

There are days when you can go completely overboard and fortunately for me (and unfortunately my bank balance) today was one of those days ...
